Lake Salinda Lake Salinda has been a positive asset for our community for many years. Not only is it a back up source of water for our city’s water supply but it also provides a great source of tourism for our area. People used to travel from all over Southern Indiana to come and boat and fish Lake Salinda before the damage to the dam. After the damage, Lake Salinda banned any boats and virtually lost most of its fishing tourism. The boaters and fisherman brought additional money into the community by visiting our restaurants, gas stations and stores. Lake Salinda is going on 3 years of down time since the damage, while the city has tried to figure out what to do with it and how to pay for it.
